You can enjoy an outdoor concert in Seoul, South Korea, at one of the many outdoor stages in Children’s Grand Park, or check out an act over lunch at the Seoul Plaza. You can see local bands perform at the Olympic Village and college bands in the Learning District. Outdoor concerts abound in Seoul.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Transportation
  • Tickets

Step1
Learn at least a few words of the language if you are coming from out of the country, and learn how the monetary system works. It would be wise to learn about Korean customs, too.
Step2
If you are from way, way out of town, get your travel papers early. Getting an American visa can take several months, and without that piece of paper, you are not going anywhere.
Step3
Purchase transportation to Seoul. Arrange hotel accommodations as close to the concert location as possible.
Step4
Dress appropriately for the outdoor event. Seoul has hot and humid summers as well as a rainy season from June to September. Stay apprised of local weather conditions.

Tips & Warnings

  • Experience a real cultural melting pot at the Summer Ceili, a festival of Irish music, food and culture that takes place in Seoul.
  • If you want to check out something a little edgier, try the Seoul Fringe Festival. This is a group of underground and independent artists and performers who perform in the streets of Hongdae, a suburb of Seoul, over the course of 17 days.
  • An umbrella or rain slicker is required equipment during the prime rainy months of July and August.
