You can enjoy an outdoor concert in Santa Rosa, California, at almost any time of year. The weather may be a little steamy in the summer, but the rest of the year this town enjoys temperatures and conditions suitable for any outdoor activity, including concerts.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Transportation
  • Tickets
  1. Step 1

Limit the amount of money you carry with you to the outdoor concert to the bare necessities. You can delay purchases, such as T-shirts and CDs, until after the show.

  2. Step 2

Plan on parking costs before you go to the outdoor concert. Nothing cuts into the fun more than having a chunk of your budget taken out by parking.

  3. Step 3

Find the rest rooms before you need them. The same goes for other amenities, such as food and drink stands, if present.

  4. Step 4

Come early and stake out a spot if the event has festival seating. Bring in a chair and go with a group so you can lay claim to a good place to watch the concert.

  5. Step 5

Drink lots of water, especially if the concert is in the hot months of July, August and September. Although the average high for these months is only around 83 degrees F, record highs are all above 100 degrees F.

  6. Step 6

Protect yourself from the sun with sunscreen, and limit your sun exposure. If you have sensitive skin, consider purchasing a shade tent to keep your time in the sun to a minimum.

Tips & Warnings
  • Depending on the venue, you may want to bring a chair or blanket. Some places have restrictions on what you can carry in and where you can set up camp. Contact the venue and ask about such policies before coming to the outdoor concert.
  • The strength of a sunscreen is measured by its sun protection factor (SPF). A higher SPF gives more time in the sun before your skin will burn. Remember to reapply sunscreen periodically and after going in water.
