How to Mount a Ceiling Fan

Installing a ceiling fan is not difficult if you have all the parts and tools. To mount a ceiling fan, follow the instructions below.

Things You'll Need:

• Screwdriver
• Chalk
• Ladder
• Saw

1. Determine the center of your room and mark it with chalk. If a ceiling fixture was previously installed there, then skip this step.

2. Saw a hole in the ceiling large enough for the junction box.

3. Install the junction box.

4. Assemble ceiling fan.

5. Install the hanger pipe.

6. Turn off the power to the circuit, and then attach the ceiling fan base and hook up the wires.

7. Install the blades. If there is less than a screwdriver’s distance from your fan to the ceiling, install the blades before hooking the fan to the junction box.
