With the Digital Video Enhancer (DVE) feature of the Sony DVP-CX875P CD/DVD Player, you can clarify and sharpen the images displayed on your TV screen. You can also soften the picture. Here's how to do it.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Press the "Display" button twice during playback to display the control menu on the screen.

  2. Step 2

Use the up and down arrow keys to select the "DVE" tab. Press "Enter" to view the options available under "Digital Video Enhancer."

  3. Step 3

Select the option you want. Option 1 enhances the outline of the image. Option 2 enhances it more than option 1. Option 3 provides the highest level of clarity and crispness. Use the "Soft" option to tone down the sharpness of the picture. Press "Enter."

  4. Step 4

Press the "Off" tab to cancel the DVE setting.

  5. Step 5

Press the "Display" button repeatedly to turn off the control menu.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you hear excessive disc noise while playing a DVD, consider using the Block Noise Reduction (BNR) feature along with DVE. Press "Display" twice during playback to access the BNR function and use the up and down arrow keys to select the required level of BNR.
  • Select the "Soft" option or reduce the DVE level in step 3 if the disc noise condition does not improve. This applies only to DVD-videos and DVD –RWs.
