- All-purpose Cleaners
- Drop Cloths
- Garden Hoses
- Rags
- Soft Rags
- Soft-bristled Brush
Cleaning Monthly
Step1
Lower the blinds and close the slats.
Step2
Wipe with a damp rag. Avoid applying too much pressure to the blinds when scrubbing, as most are prone to denting and bending.
Step3
Close the slats in the opposite direction and wipe the other side.
Cleaning Deeply
Step1
Remove the blinds from the window.
Step2
Release the blinds completely and lay them outside, on a drop cloth.
Step3
Spray the blinds with an all-purpose cleaner. Allow the cleaner to sit for a few minutes.
Step4
Scrub the blinds gently with a soft-bristled brush in a motion parallel to the slats.
Step5
Turn the blinds over and repeat this process.
Step6
Hang or hold up the blinds and rinse with a hose.
Step7
Shake as much moisture from the blinds as possible.
Step8
Hang the blinds outside and allow them to dry.

on 7/26/2008 We always recommend our customers to juice a lemon into a bowl with a little warm water and to wipe the blinds down with a clean lint free cloth.

on 4/3/2007 Scrubbing Bubbles is great for washing mini blinds--spray it on, and rinse it off in the shower, works great!

on 8/8/2006 Hang the blinds on a line, or anything that keeps it up. Then get out a garden hose and let water out full blast on each slat. Do the same to the back. Next put dish detergent on the blinds with a sponge on both sides. Rinse and let dry.

on 6/30/2006 I have chemical sensitivities, so I clean most often with baking soda and vinegar. Borax (20 mule Team) works just as well. Take the blinds down, put in a bathtub (or hang with suction cups on tub or shower wall). Wet with shower head and sprinkle with baking soda and let set, scrub with toilet brush and a bit more water to make a paste, then use vinegar in a spray bottle for more grimy blinds, rinse, let dry. Borax works as well and is safer for the environment and your body and drain system. If you use the baking soda and vinegar you can also clean the tub and clear some of the drain from clogs! And less expensive too! The baking soda and vinegar team is great for cleaning soap scum in tubs, too!
