Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
Step1
Research travel costs. All means of transportation have their ups and downs. Gas prices fluctuate, and driving could be affordable. Many major airlines offer discounts to major cities, and you could fly for the price of driving and safe the drive time. If you purchase airline tickets, be sure to put them in a safe place with all of your other vacation materials.
Step2
Decide what attractions you want to see. Are you a movie buff and want to spend a lot of time at Universal Studios and look for celebrities? Or are you into a more educational vacation and want to visit the aquarium and natural history museums. Order a visitor’s guide, and plan where you would like to visit. Some attractions and tours require reservations.
Step3
Reserve your accommodations. Try to find a hotel that it near the majority of your visits. You do not want to lose vacation time going from one end of the city to the other. Be sure to get your confirmation number, and place it with your vacation materials.
Step4
Study the maps of the city in your visitor’s guide. You want to get to know the major streets, and the intersections of the attractions that you are going to visit. If you get lost in the city, you will have a general idea of the area that you are looking for.
Step5
Pack your bags for the weather. The highs in Los Angeles average in the low 80’s and lows are in the low 60’s in the summer. When you think that you might want to visit somewhere that might require formal dress, plan for that also.
Step6
Make arrangements for your pet. When you have a pet, plan to get them boarded or have a trusted neighbor take care of them for you. Stop your mail and newspaper, or if that is not possible have someone pick it up for you. Have emergency numbers available for anyone to reach you in case of any emergency.
