Things You'll Need:

  • A reliable Career Planning and Placement counselor
  • A subscription to Monstertrak
  • A flexible class schedule
  • Contacts/connections
  • A solid resume
  • A car
  1. Step 1

First, when setting up your schedule make sure to space out your class times. Try to leave between 4-6 hours free, two days a week. This way you can be flexible when applying for internships and be available when needed.

  2. Step 2

Next, contact your Career Planning and Placement center on campus. Ask them about upcoming internship fairs or contacts/leads they may have.

  3. Step 3

If that doesn't work, sign onto monstertrak.com and set up an account. Use their search features to find an internship specific to your location, major, and qualifications.

  4. Step 4

Compile all your information onto a 1-page resume. If you are confused on how to go about this, look online for standard formats. Don't try to be too creative- a more professional and traditional looks is key.

  5. Step 5

One you've applied for several jobs, wait to hear back for interviews. Remember- always be polite and don't expect to be paid!
