Step 1
Decide on your mode of travel. Choose to travel by plane, train, bus or car to easily arrive in Key Largo. The closest airport is Miami International, which is about 22 miles from the states closest Key Largo. Once you land, you will be able to rent a car or hop on the Keys Shuttle Bus to take you to Key Largo. The same holds true for the train, which takes you into Miami as well, where you can hop on the shuttle or rent a car. There are also a couple of bus lines from which to choose.

Find a place to lay your head while staying in Key Largo. Key Largo offers a wide array of hotels and resorts where you can stay while on summer vacation. Check with a travel agent, online or contact the lodging facility to make your reservations. Once you've made your reservations, be sure to get a receipt or confirmation number.

Choose the sites you to visit by acquiring a travel guide or asking a travel agent about local attractions. Decide what places you want to visit and make sure you have enough time to visit them all. If you need to make reservations for a particular attraction, do so in advance.

Purchase a map of Key Largo, Florida and become familiar with the streets and avenues, especially those close to your accommodations and the sites you want to visit. Decide whether the public transportation will suit your needs or if you will need to rent a car while there.

Decide if you would like to take a tour or hire a tour guide while in Key Largo, Florida. There are many sites and natural wonders in the area that a guide would be able to help you see and give you a deeper understanding of the areas history.

Pack for the trip. Key Largo is hot and humid during the summer months, so you will definitely want to pack for the conditions. If you plan on attending a special event where a dress code is required, you will want to pack for this as well.
