Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Things You’ll Need:
Step1
Talk to friends, family or teachers to find out if they know someone who has experience with sustainable agriculture. They may be able to refer you to environmentally conscious farmers.
Step2
Research available positions and locations on the Internet. Find out what is required to apply for the jobs. Some of them will let you apply over the Internet. Others you have to send your cover letter and resume directly to them. Pick a few for which you want to apply.
Step3
Create a cover letter. Type a few paragraphs to describe yourself and why you are interested in the job. Make it short, as no employer wants to read a book about you. Then write your resume. Include the jobs you have had in the past and references of people who know you and your abilities.
Step4
Send or e-mail your cover letter and resume. Consider a follow-up phone call or e-mail to secure an interview.
Step5
Practice for the interview to gain confidence. Think of answers to questions they may ask. Be prepared to ask questions of them, as this can demonstrate your interest in and knowledge of the position. Dress appropriately when you attend your interview. First impressions are very important.
