Instructions

1
Evaluate your home, including how many people live there, how many pets you have and where your current security system sensors (if any) are located.
-
2
Weigh your pets. Knowing the approximate weight of each pet comes in handy when shopping for a motion detector.
-
-
3
Decide exactly where you want your motion detectors to go, to provide optimum security from potential intruders.
-
4
Search various stores for motion detectors, looking for weight sensor pads that you can use along with the device (if something lighter than your pet passes by, no alarm will be triggered).
-
5
Test the motion detector. Some stores will have demonstrations. Ask customer service about testing one out in the store before you buy it.
-
6
Purchase your motion detector(s) and install it in your home.

Tips & Warnings
Weight sensor pads are generally good for smaller pets. But if your pet's weight shifts often, you may need to update your motion detectors frequently.
Motion detectors can also be placed high enough so pets will not set them off. For further instruction, consult the user's manual of any motion detector.
