1. Plan ahead. How long do you plan to be out camping? When do you want to camp?
   
2. Once you have established a broad idea of when you plan to camp, narrow the dates down to one or two ranges.
3. Reserve your campsite. You can do this by calling [phone] or by going to www.recreation.gov and requesting a site at the Mather, Desert View or North Rim campgrounds.
   
4. Pack for your trip. Only bring as much gear, food, water and clothing as you will need to have available.
5. Plan other activities for the time of your trip. Check for a schedule of events.
