Instructions
  1. Step 1

Camping is permitted on all five islands at Channel Islands National Park.

  2. Step 2

Arrange for transportation to the island you choose for camping. Try Island Packers at (805) 642-1393 or Truth Aquatics at (805) 962-1127.

  3. Step 3

If you decide to kayak or take your own boat to the island, you still must have a camping permit. This permit is free of charge and can be obtained by calling (805) 658-5711.

  4. Step 4

Camping reservations can be made by calling (800) 365-CAMP. You may make reservations up to three months in advance. When making your reservations, have the camping dates, number in your party and transportation information available.

  5. Step 5

Each campground has a pit toilet and picnic tables.

  6. Step 6

The only two islands with available water are Santa Rosa and East Santa Cruz.

  7. Step 7

Campfires are not permitted. You may, however, use a camp stove or a fire ring on Scorpion Bay in the winter.

  8. Step 8

Plan to take all of your trash with you.

  9. Step 9

If you are interested in backcountry camping, a campsite has opened at Del Norte. The hike into the camp is three miles. Four groups can camp at this location. You will find pit toilets and a picnic table here.
