The JVC RV-NB1 Kaboom Series Boombox has many great features. You can play MP3 discs in addition to other forms of audio media, use your boombox as an amplifier and use the timer functions to play music at pre-determined times. Using your boombox as a microphone amplifier means you can sing along with sound sources on your boombox and record to a cassette too. Read on to learn how to use the JVC RV-NB1 Kaboom Series Boombox as a microphone amplifier.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • JVC RV-NB1 Kaboom Series Boombox
  • Connection Cable for the Microphone and Boombox
  • Microphone
Step1
Set the “Mic/Guitar Level” control on the rear of your boombox. The knob should be pressed in when using a microphone.
Step2
Set the “Mic/Guitar Level” control to minimum volume by turning it counterclockwise until it stops turning.
Step3
Connect a microphone to the “Mic/Guitar Input” jack on the rear of the boombox.
Step4
Adjust “Volume +/-” and the “Mic/Guitar Level” control as you play.

Tips & Warnings

  • Prevent noise distortion while using your microphone by keeping it away from the speakers on the boombox.
  • The “Mic/Guitar Level” and “Volume +/-” should be set to minimum before playing to ensure the speakers on your boombox are not damaged by a sudden burst of loud noise.
  • Note that you need your own microphone and connection cable to do this—they are not supplied with the boombox.
