1. In California, it is a misdemeanor to shoot at any kind of game from a moving vehicle, unless the target is a whale.
2. It's against the law for a woman to drive in a house coat in California.
3. Don't import an Asian woman and make her a prostitute in California. If you're caught, you could get a year in prison and a $500 fine.
4. In California, animals are banned from mating publicly within 1,500 feet of a tavern, school or place of worship.
5. In Pacific Grove, "molesting" butterflies can result in a $500 fine.
6. In Pasadena, it is illegal for a secretary to be alone in a room with her boss.
7. It is illegal to set a mousetrap without a hunting license.
8. In San Francisco, it is illegal to wipe one's car with used underwear
9. In Ventura County, cats and dogs are not allowed to have sex without a permit.
10. In Los Angeles, a man is legally entitled to beat his wife with a leather belt or strap, but the belt can't be wider than 2 inches, unless he has his wife's consent to beat her with a wider strap. Consent should be given prior to the event, as is carefully stipulated.
11. The L.A. City Council voted unanimously to ban smoking on all city beaches, from Malibu down to Manhattan Beach. Council members, however, agreed to form a task force to consider smokers' requests for smoking on designated patches of sand.
