Aeroflot-Nord is a subsidiary of Aeroflot that started in 2004 after an acquisition of Arkhangelsk Airlines. Here’s how to book travel on this northern, Arkhangelsk-based Aeroflot airline.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access
  • Valid passport and visa

    Book Your Ticket on Aeroflot-Nord

  1. Step 1

Book Aeroflot Nord tickets by calling 011 (+7) 495 223-55-55 or by visiting their booking Web site (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

Book your ticket in person by showing up to one of Aeroflot's many ticketing offices located around the world. Exact addresses can be found on the Aeroflot Web site. Booking your ticket in person is usually the cheapest option, especially in Russia.

  3. Step 3

Book your ticket through a travel agent. Most online travel agencies provide booking services for Aeroflot Russian Airlines.

  4. Step 4

Visit the Aeroflot-Nord Web site. An English translation for the site is under construction. On the Web site, you'll find a nifty route map and some timetables.

  5. Choose a Departure City and Destination

  6. Step 1

Fly internationally to Tromse, Norway. Aeroflot-Nord provides flights to Tromse from Arkhangelsk's Talagi Airport and Murmansk's Murmansk Airport.

  7. Step 2

Fly internationally to Simferopol, Ukraine. Aeroflot-Nord provides a flight to Simferopol from Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport.

  8. Step 3

Fly to 22 different domestic cities. Fly from Moscow to 14 different cities, from Arkhangelsk to nine different cities, from St. Petersburg to three different cities and from Murmansk to two different cities.

Tips & Warnings
  • Arrive at the airport at least 2 hours prior to your departure time to make sure you get through security without a hitch.
  • Check in at least 40 minutes prior to departure. Some airports will not let people check in past the 40-minute mark.
  • Pack lightly. Europe has low weight limits for luggage. Luggage in excess of the weight limit will cost you a fee.
  • All phone numbers include the United States international prefix "011." When calling internationally from outside the United States, check which prefix to use. All country codes are within parentheses and begin with a "+" sign.
  • Aeroflot-Nord flies as far east as Omsk. If you want to book travel farther east than Omsk, you will have to plan on a connecting flight or choose a different airline.
  • Aeroflot-Nord's southern destinations, like Anapa, Sochi and Simferopol, are very popular vacation spots for Russians. If you are traveling during peak vacation times, these flights might be very crowded, so book your tickets early.
