Once the largest airline in the world, Aeroflot used to be the national airline of the Soviet Union. Currently it is the national airline of the Russian Federation. Book travel on Aeroflot to a number of domestic and international destinations.

Book Your Ticket on Aeroflot

1. Book Aeroflot tickets by calling 011 ([phone] or visit their booking Web site (see Resources below).

2. Purchase your travel tickets through your own travel agent. Aeroflot is an internationally recognized airline and an American agency should have no trouble making travel plans for you.

3. Travel domestically within Russia. Aeroflot's hub is in Moscow, and from there you can journey to dozens of Russian cities, from the world-famous to the obscure.

4. Go to an Aeroflot ticket office. In America, there is an Aeroflot ticket office in Los Angeles, Seattle, New York and Washington. Address and contact information can be found on the Aeroflot Web site. At the office, a ticketing agent will assist you in booking your flight.

5. Register with the Russian Embassy for a visa. Visas are required of all nationalities for entry into Russia. Russia can be a bureaucratic country, so give this process time and do not attempt to sidestep this requirement. You do not want to be held up at the airport before departure or at your destination.

6. Choose a destination and departure city. Aeroflot has an immense list of possible destinations. Refer to Aeroflot's Web site or an online travel agency to see flight timetables.

• Visit Aeroflot's Web site and read what Aeroflot has to offer. Special deals may be available. The Web site has a News section, so you can read up on recent changes to the airline.
• The average weight limit for free baggage on an Aeroflot flight is 20 kg. Special membership or a business-class ticket may increase that weight total. If you pack more than the limit, be prepared to pay extra fees at the airport.

on 6/27/2008 Possibly hundreds of dollars, last time, we paid 250 american dollars for an extra bag. We have paid hundreds for an overweight bag we well. They will try to take advantage of you and are extremely rude! (These charges were in country, from Moscow to Irkutsk)
