Since the mid-1990s, a number of low-cost airlines have been launched in Europe, offering cheap no-frills flights to European and international destinations. Germanwings, based in Germany, is one of these low-cost carriers. The company has a good reputation for providing decent service and regularly scheduled flights.

Book Travel on Germanwings

Step1
Visit the Germanwings Web site (see Resources below).
Step2
Search for a flight by selecting your travel dates, destinations and preferences in the "Flight Search" box. You can also search for flights by clicking on the "Booking" tab.
Step3
Click on the "Help & Contact" link in the upper right corner of the homepage if you have questions.
Step4
Book a flight over the phone by calling Germanwings at 011 (+44) 0870 252 12 50.

Know Your Airline

Originally named Eurowings Flug GmbH, Germanwings was founded in 1997, but the airline did not operate its first flights until late 2002.

The airline has hubs in Cologne Bonn Airport and Stuttgart Airport, with secondary hubs in Berlin-Schönefeld International Airport and Hamburg Airport.

Germanwings currently has a fleet of 24 aircraft made up of Airbus A319-100s and Airbus A320-200s.
