The airline now follows published timetables and offers regularly scheduled flights to both bordering countries as well as flights to Germany, Turkey and other more distant destinations. With a hub and main office in the capital of Dushanbe, Tajikistan Airlines is the domestic choice to get to the former Soviet republic now rebuilding itself as an independent state. Follow these steps to book a flight.

    Book Tickets on Tajikistan Airlines

  1. Step 1

Use the Tajikistan Airlines Web site (see Resources below) to book reservations via email.

  2. Step 2

Call a Tajikistan Airlines representative in Germany by calling 011 (+49) 89 975 94330 for cargo booking information or inquire at one of their many international offices for passenger flights. Tajikistan has call centers in Russia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, China, Iran, India, the United Arab Emirates and Kyrghyzstan as well as at their offices in Tajikistan and Germany. There is currently no official way for English speakers to book flights directly over the telephone.

  3. Step 3

See a Tajikistan Airlines agent. Speak directly to a Tajikistan agent about ticket reservations at their headquarters in Dushanbe or at their office in Munich, Germany.

  4. Know Tajikistan Airlines Routes and Timetables

  5. Step 1

Fly to and from the hub in Dushanbe. All flights on Tajikistan Airlines depart or arrive in the capital city of Dushanbe except for flights between Munich and Istanbul.

  6. Step 2

Use Tajikistan Airlines to travel to Tajikistan from many international locations. Tajikistan Airlines departs from Moscow, Novosibirsk and Ekaterinburg in Russia as well as local flights from Tehran, Iran; Almaty, Kazakhstan; and Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

  7. Focus on Safety While Traveling to Tajikistan

  8. Step 1

Carry copies of your passport and visa when in Tajikistan. Travelers to Tajikistan should be able to identify themselves at all times. They will be asked to show travel documentation when registering at hotels.

  9. Step 2

Be careful of potential terrorist activities. Due to government instability and its proximity to Afghanistan, bombings and other terrorist action is possible in Tajikistan. At times, restrictions are placed on travel to and from the country.

  10. Step 3

Exercise caution when traveling in cities. Street crime and violent crime are possibilities in Tajikistan cities and travelers should take extra precautions when traveling alone or at night. In addition, travelers are warned not to use public transportation and taxis.

Tips & Warnings
  • Get a visa for neighboring countries in order to have multiple departure options.
  • Tajikistan Airlines does not have a complete online booking feature. (Instead, you fill out an online form submit it to the airline).
  • Any questionable interactions with police should be reported to your embassy.
  • Check the U.S. State Department Web site (see Resources below) before you book your flight.

on 7/13/2008 There is a website with schedules for Tajik Air flights into and out of Dushanbe. I found it by asking google for Website Tajik Air. It is http://www.traveltajikistan.com/flights/.

It has a link for getting to a form to send to the travel company to book a ticket. The link does not lead to the form as intended, but apologizes for the confusion and gives one an email address of what appears to be a travel company in the UK, to which it indicates you can send an email to initiate a correspondence that might lead to a booking on Tajik Air. Anyway, the flight schedules are useful. I did not find airfares on the website.

on 7/13/2008 Step 1 says "see resources below", but there ain't any.
Step 1 has a hotlink, but it takes one to a website that is "under construction." It has been under construction of and on for the past 13 years. (This note is written in July 2008.) A Google search for Tajikistan Airlines or Tajik Airlines produces links to many travel websites, but I have not found one that can tell me anything about Tajik Air's schedules, much less book a ticket. Turkish airlines has flights twice a week between Istanbul and Dushanbe, and the schedules are on the Turkish Airlines website.
