Kyokushin Air is a small commuter airline based in Japan. It flies between Sado Island and Niigata Airport in the city of Niigata. Follow these steps to book your flight.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • The appropriate visas
  • Japanese language software that will allow your computer to display Japanese characters
  • A computer with Internet access
  • A valid passport

Get Flight Information from the Kyokushin Air Website

  1. Step 1

Know that while you are unable to book travel on the Kyokushin Air Web site (see Resources below), the site does have extensive flight information, as well as pricing charts. Flight schedule charts cover a period of approximately 5 months.

  2. Step 2

Visit the Kyokushin Air Web site to check the flight time table and determine when you want to book your flight. The company offers 3 regular flights from Niigata to Sada, and 3 regular flights back every day.

  3. Step 3

Send an e-mail to Kyokushin Air at toki-yume@nifty.com or call them directly (only if you speak Japanese) for booking information at 011 (+81) 25 273 0312.

  4. Step 4

Realize that Kyokushin Air allows up to 5 kilograms of free baggage on their flights. Afterwards, they will charge about $1 more for every additional kilogram.

  5. Step 5

Pay at least $5 for up to 5 kilograms of airfreight on Kyokushin Air, and an additional $1 for every kilogram in excess of that.

  6. Step 6

Understand that although pets are allowed on Kyokushin Air flights, there is a cage preparation fee. Call or email for additional details.

Tips & Warnings
  • You may want to call your local travel agent to book the flight to avoid any language barrier problems.
  • When booking through a travel agent, keep in mind that Kyokushin Air is a very small airline. Your local travel agent may not be familiar with it. It might help them out to have the Kyokushin Air phone numbers and email address on hand for them.
  • Check the airline's Web site for details on certain discounts and coupons, or email them for more information.
  • The entire Kyokushin Air Web site is written in Japanese. No English version is available.
  • Kyokushin Air does not offer direct booking for English speakers, either over the phone or on the Internet.
  • There are a number of online translation programs, but be aware that automated translation tools translate literally, and therefore the translations do not always make sense in English.
