Booking travel from Slovenia to Switzerland will require 2 train rides. The 4 hour train from Slovenia to Venice, and then the overnight train from Venice to Zurich, Geneva or Lucerne. Although the Eurail covers much of Europe train travel, the route from Slovenia to Switzerland should be purchased independently, as the Eurail does not offer a direct route from Slovenia to Switzerland. Book Your Train Travel From Slovenia to Switzerland

1. Book tickets online via Eurail's Web site, contact Eurail directly via email or call (866) 6-EURAIL to book your tickets and get more information (see Resources).

2. Buy your train travel from the Venice Santa Lucia station to Switzerland by going to the Italian Railway Web site (see Resources). You can register to become a member and book tickets directly online. You want to reserve tickets for the Cisalpino Train EN "Roma."

3. Contact the Italian Railway station directly to book your ticket from Italy to Switzerland. This way you can purchase your ticket and reserve a seat at the same time, which may save you time and energy.

4. Head into one of the local Slovenian train stations or Italian trains stations in person for purchases as well.

5. Book your train travel from Slovenia to Italy via email with the Ljubljana train station (see Resources). You must also call to reserve your specific seat at least 9 days ahead of time.
