Find Luxury Hotels In Bangkok, Thailand

Visiting Bangkok is an adventure in itself, as the city offers many contrasts. The colorful city offers striking skyscrapers nestled between historical temples as amazing wealth contrasts with extreme poverty. The city is famous for its nightlife, but is also the main gateway for visiting Thailand.

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access for making reservations online

Find Luxury Accommodations in Bangkok, Thailand

  1. Step 1

Visit the Asia Web Direct site to book accommodations in Bangkok online (see Resources below). You can also reserve by phone at 011 (+66) (0) 2651-9501.

  2. Step 2

Make reservations at the Sukhothai Hotel by calling 011 (+66) 02287 0222 or by visiting the hotel Web site (see Resources below).

  3. Step 3

Stay along the Chao Phraya River. This is the most beautiful area of the city, meaning rates for luxury accommodations on the river will be 10 to 20 percent higher than those downtown.

  4. Step 4

Consider staying around Sukhumvit Road. A convenient stop on the skytrain, this area offers several choices for luxury accommodations. You'll find many tourists in this popular shopping district.

  5. Step 5

Select from among more than twenty luxury hotels providing accommodations in Bangkok. The most luxurious are the penthouse high rise suites found at the international chain hotels.

  6. Step 6

Expect to pay upwards of $150 a night for luxury accommodations in Bangkok. Throughout Thailand you will find hotel rates on the cheaper side.

  7. Organize Transportation in Bangkok

  8. Step 1

Fly into Don Mueang International Airport. Almost all major airlines fly into this airport, which is about 15 miles outside the city center.

  9. Step 2

Have your driver take the expressway from the airport. This may help you beat some traffic, but will cost you 40 baht at the tool booth, so be sure to make change before you get in the cab.

  10. Step 3

Take a tuk tuk. Perhaps the most infamous way to travel locally in Thailand, it can also be the quickest in densely populated areas.

  11. Prepare to Visit Bangkok, Thailand

  12. Step 1

Try to learn the currency of Thailand, the baht, as quickly as possible. You'll notice that almost everyone seems to barter, which is part of the fun. Exchange booths affiliated with the major banks can be found in all major tourist areas.

  13. Step 2

Pack a phrase book. While Thai is the official language, you'll find many English speakers, especially in tourist areas, but it never hurts to learn some of the local language.

  14. Step 3

Enjoy this amazing city, which carries the world's longest place name, according to the Guinness Book of World Records: Krung Thep Maha Nakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayutthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udom Ratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Phiman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanu Kamprasit.

Tips & Warnings
  • The public transportation infrastructure in Bangkok is one of the most organized in the world, so feel safe taking the skytrain, buses or boats anywhere you need to go.
  • Be aware that the heat in April can be stifling and the rain in October may be a real annoyance, but in general, Bangkok can be visited year-round.
