Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic. Rich in historical architecture, Prague also boasts an abundance of attractions of interest to tourists and visitors. Though its history dates back for thousands of years, the city offers a full range of modern amenities and the buzz you'd expect from a city of this century. Prague has 15 districts, with the central "Prague 1" offering the most tourist attractions. Here's how to find luxury accommodations in Prague.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

    Choose Luxury Accommodations

  1. Step 1

Make reservations at Prague's famous and luxurious Hotel Savoy by visiting its Web site (see Resources below). Or book by phone from the United States by calling 011 (+420) 224 302 430.

  2. Step 2

Stay in luxury accommodations in Smichov to be close to Novy Smichov, the largest shopping center in the city.

  3. Step 3

Book luxury accommodations close to Old Town Square. This section of Prague has been around for centuries and houses many historical buildings. Expect boutique hotels here to cost between $150 and $300 per night.

  4. Step 4

Select a luxury hotel in Wenceslas Square to be close to businesses and cultural attractions.

  5. Getting Around in Prague

  6. Step 1

  7. Step 2

Take the bus or tram to get around the city. You'll find numerous routes and options.

  8. Step 3

Purchase a Prague Card. You'll enjoy four days of transportation, as well as a complimentary guidebook and free or discounted entry into an abundance of Prague attractions.

  9. Step 4

Call for a taxi, but be sure to negotiate the fare before you hop in the cab (see warning below).

  10. Explore Prague

  11. Step 1

Stroll around on a Prague walking tour. You'll gain a wealth of historical knowledge of the city.

  12. Step 2

Watch sailboats on the Vltava River, which runs through Prague.

  13. Step 3

Visit Prague Castle, the largest of the world's ancient castles.

  14. Step 4

Stop and take photos from the beautiful Charles Bridge, one of the country's most famous attractions.

  15. Step 5

Guzzle a brew at the Pilsner Urquell Brewery. Tours of the brewery are available; you can also tour other nearby sites on the same day.

  16. Step 6

Take a dinner cruise on the river at night. You'll be able to see the scene set by the lights from the Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge.

  17. Step 7

Try a Czech folk night while visiting Prague. You'll have a three-course meal and free-flowing wine. Live entertainment including folk music is also provided as part of the night's experience.

Tips & Warnings
  • When calling internationally from outside the United States, check which international dialing prefix to use. All country codes are within parentheses and begin with a "+" sign.
  • Avoid hailing taxis when possible. Hailing taxis puts you at risk of being scammed by unscrupulous taxi drivers. To avoid being overcharged, call a major taxi service for a ride and confirm the fare before you get in the cab.
