Step1
Book a room through the Cincinnati Convention & Visitors Bureau Web site or call (513) 621-2142 (see Resources below).
Step2
Stay at The Cincinnatian Hotel at its Web site (see Resources below) or by calling (800) 942-9000.
Step3
Opt for luxury accommodations in the Clifton area near the University of Cincinnati, where small-town shops are plentiful. Spacious parks and quaint stores await you as you explore one of Cincinnati's most famous neighborhoods.
Step4
Select a room with luxury in mind. Bed and breakfasts, historical inns and modern accommodations will put you within walking distance of many of Cincinnati's exciting attractions.
Step5
Stay near the Cincinnati Art Museum to be within easy walking distance of great art. Ask your hotel about special package rates that include museum admission.
Step6
Line dance in a riverfront restaurant recommended by your hotel staff, or take in a comedy show along with dinner. Luxury downtown accommodations are within close proximity to Cincinnati's nightlife options.

Know Your Destination

Step1
Find a small town flavor in many of Cincinnati's sprawling neighborhoods. Specialty shops offer food, gifts and hard-to-find items. Browse the bookstores and have a coffee in one of the many coffee shops.
Step2
Take your turn on the Purple People Bridge walk. You'll walk up to the upper trestles of this expansive bridge to see nearly all of downtown Cincinnati and part of northern Kentucky in a panoramic view. Special safety equipment and a guide are provided for a fee.

Get Around Cincinnati, Ohio

Step1
Fly into the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Rent a car to get to one of the area's fine hotels.
Step2
Call a taxi. Hailing a taxi from the street corner doesn't work well in Cincinnati, so arrange a taxi over the telephone. Drivers can also give you inside information on the best restaurants to sample and sights to see.
Step3
Consider taking a city bus. One of the best ways to explore Cincinnati is to hop on a bus with a pocketful of quarters. Take the time to see sights in areas of the city where visitors seldom venture. Buses pass by many of the urban hotels.

Tips & Warnings

  • Cincinnati, Ohio is a metropolitan area with a crime problem after dark. Avoid taking shortcuts down alleys and walking alone at night.
