With a population of over half a million people, legendary Las Vegas is the largest town in Nevada and an internationally renowned magnet for thrill seekers, gamblers, conventioneers and vacationers of all stripes. Located on the outskirts of the Mojave Desert, "Sin City" enjoys a year-round moderate climate and accommodates nearly 35 million visitors annually as it undergoes perpetual re-invention.

Instructions

Find Luxury Accommodations in Las Vegas, Nevada

  1. Step 1

Book your accommodations through the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. Use their Web site (see Resources below) or call (702) 892-0711.

  2. Step 2

Stay at the Four Seasons Las Vegas. Book through their Web site (see Resources below) or call (702) 632-5000.

  3. Step 3

Consider one of the growing number of resort/spa complexes, particularly those built around golf courses. Many visitors enjoy the slower pace, comfort and beauty of these establishments while staying just a few minutes from the Las Vegas Strip.

  4. Step 4

Explore the many "boutique" hotels Las Vegas has to offer; these establishments are usually smaller and more intimate than the mega hotels and offer the highest level of luxury accommodations.

  5. Step 5

Consult local real estate agents for vacation home rentals. These facilities are regularly available in all ranges of luxury.

  6. Step 6

Look to the stellar luxury casino/hotels along the fabled "Strip" (Las Vegas Boulevard South), technically located just outside the Las Vegas city limits. As an idiosyncratic rule of thumb, the more the architecture of one of these casino/hotels resembles that of some other locale (like Paris, Venice, ancient Rome, ancient Egypt or New York), the more likely it is that the establishment will offer premium luxury accommodations.

  7. Step 7

Consider one of the older casino/hotels in the downtown area known as the "Fremont Street Experience." These venues are making a concerted effort to attract visitors from the glitzier Las Vegas Strip.

  8. Arrange Your Travel to Las Vegas, Nevada

  9. Step 1

Fly to Las Vegas via any of the dozens of international, national and regional carriers that service nearby McCarran International Airport. The airport is just a few miles east of the city center and rental cars, taxis, shuttles and limousines are available around the clock.

  10. Step 2

Drive to Las Vegas by way of Interstate 15, the major east/west freeway running through the American Southwest. Most visitors from Southern California use this route, which extends eastward to Salt Lake City. Take State Highway 95 to reach Las Vegas from the north or south.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wire your gaming money ahead to a casino hotel if you're fortunate enough to be taking a substantial amount. All of the major facilities offer complimentary luxury accommodations to guests who they believe will be wagering considerable sums at their gaming tables.

on 4/28/2009 A quick comment. Vegas now has 1 1/2 million people living here. Visitors can also take advantage of some of the more local hotels and casinos that are around the outskirts of Vegas.

on 9/20/2007 There is lots of free stuff to see in Vegas. Look online for sites that describe the free attractions which each hotel offers. (They do this to lure you in so you shop there.) These alone should keep tyou busy for a few days!

on 9/20/2007 As I live here, you didn't mention the heat. If you plan on visiting during the summer, be prepared to drink plenty of fluids,(not alcohol, it makes the dehydration worse) Also visit in the off season, hotels are empty and you will find more deals because they're empty and trying to keep them as full as possible. If you plan on coming here during the holidays (Christmas thru New Years) book well in advance. Some places, you need to book 6 months to a year in advance for reservations.

on 9/20/2007 If you plan to leave from the Vegas airport on Sunday or Monday, leave PLENTY of time to clear security. It took us over 45 minutes one Monday morning to get through and we almost missed our flight. Pamela, NJ

on 3/13/2007 If you plan to drive from So. Ca on a weekend to Vegas, the traffic coming back can be really bad on Sunday. Plan to leave early on Sunday or spend the day there and drive back that night.
