3. Consider staying in nearby Red Lodge, Montana, a mining town in the ruggedly beautiful Beartooth Mountains. It's just a short drive from Billlings and has become a major ski resort and fly-fishing mecca. Accommodations include high-end lodges, hotels and inns.
4. Check out the fabled Pollard Hotel. Former guests include Buffalo Bill Cody and Calamity Jane. This Red Lodge hotel is a historic attraction.
5. Treat yourself to a stay at the Old Faithful Inn inside Yellowstone National Park, which features an up-close view of the famed geyser. The inn is a spectacular log-constructed structure that dates back to the days of Theodore Roosevelt.
