Salem is a small Massachusetts town, best known for the witch trials of the 1600s. A charming New England town, Salem boasts a wealth of maritime and Colonial history as well as many examples of Victorian, Greek Revival and Georgian architecture.

    Find Luxury Accommodations in Salem, Massachusetts

  1. Step 1

    Call the office of Tourism and Cultural Affairs (877) SALEM-MA or visit their Web site (see Resources below) to book reservations.

  2. Step 2

    Experience luxury and stunning views at the Salem Waterfront Hotel and Suites (see Resources below).

  3. Step 3

    Opt for one of the familiar hotel chains conveniently located in Salem. For the most part, these aren't merely cookie-cutter accommodations. They inject a bit of luxury and period authenticity into the experience, preserving Salem's historic spirit. Rooms range from about $60 to $200 per night.

  4. Step 4

    Lower your sails and board one of the waterfront hotels along Pickering Wharf overlooking Salem Harbor. Choose standard accommodations, or book a suite for extra comfort.

    Ride your broom (or car) to Salem on 114 East, I-90 (Mass Pike), I-95 South or I-93 South.

    Fly into Logan Airport in Boston, Massachusetts, which is a 25-minute drive to Salem on Route 1-A North.

Tips & Warnings
  • Stay off the beaten path if you plan on reserving Salem accommodations during Haunted Happenings in October. Route 114 East is the most direct way to get to Salem by car, but everyone else knows this too. Instead, download alternate routes recommended by the Salem Office of Tourism and Cultural Affairs.
