Choose Cheap Accommodations in Orlando

Step1
Visit the Orlando Convention and Visitors Bureau Web site (see Resources, below). Call a representative at (866) MYORLANDO for more information on accommodations in the area.
Step2
Rent a time-share. You can save a lot on accommodations, but you will have to budget time for demonstrations or lectures. You can expect to pay around $50 per night.
Step3
Stay in amazingly affordable resort accommodations. You can easily walk to tourist attractions, restaurants and shops, and you'll pay $90 and up.
Step4
Consider a package deal to save a lot. You can book a room in a chain hotel and have discounted access to many of Orlando's most popular attractions.
Step5
Book accommodations close to the University of Florida. You'll be near vibrant nightlife and fun bars. You will pay between $40 and $100 per night.

Prepare for Your Hotel Stay in Orlando

Step1
Fly to Orlando International Airport. This airport has been rated one of the best in the country and has a hotel on-site.
Step2
Take one of the old-fashioned trolley buses in Orlando. Located near most tourist attractions, they are especially useful if you travel with children.

Get to Know the Area

Step1
Mix in with the crowds. Orlando is located in Florida's third-largest metropolitan area and is the largest inland city in the state.
Step2
Be sure to sightsee. Orlando is called "The City Beautiful" for a reason.
Step3
Enjoy water recreation and quiet strolls. The Orlando area boasts over 100 lakes.
Step4
Bring a map. Orlando has 115 neighborhoods to explore and lots of options for cheap accommodations.

Visit Tourist Attractions

Step1
Use some of the money saved from your budget accommodations to spend the day at one of Orlando's luxurious spas. Choose from massages, body wraps, facials and exotic new treatments to truly pamper yourself.
Step2
Take a day off from sightseeing and go to Gatorland, a wildlife preserve and theme park.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure that accommodations are available during your travel dates. Many hotels restrict availability during the peak season for special conferences and events.
  • When traveling with small children, you may want to book your cheap accommodations far from the university area. Lots of bars and late night events makes for loud evenings and large crowds after dark.
