Many different hotel, airline and travel credit card loyalty programs let you redeem miles or travel points for hotels. Whether you can use points for hotel-only redemptions, and which hotels you can choose, depends on the specific terms of the individual loyalty program. Choose the loyalty programs and point-earning options that contribute most to your planned hotel stays.

Redeeming Miles

Once you have accumulated the minimum number of miles required for hotel redemption, most loyalty programs will allow you to redeem miles by logging onto their websites to book hotel reservations. In most cases you will have to set up an account with a user name and password before logging on and redeeming miles. Some also allow you to redeem miles for hotels by contacting their redemption centers by phone. For most programs, you must make your reservations through the loyalty program redemption website or call center.
