How to Book Travel on Lion Air

Lion Air serves over 36 of the Far East’s most popular destinations and prides itself on its shoestring prices and excellent customer service. Budget tickets for Lion Air can easily be located and purchased online; however, you may find yourself frustrated by the airline’s payment process.

Online Booking

  • The simplest way to book travel on Lion Air is via the airline’s website. Navigate to Lion Air's website, and input your reservation details in the “Book Flight” panel – return flight, one way, departure and arrival cities and travel dates – and click “Search Flights” to view flights matching your query. Once you have found a suitable flight, select it and click “Continue” to proceed to the passenger information and payment page.

The Payment Problem

  • While you may have luck paying online with your Mastercard or Visa, many report that North American- and European-issued credit cards will not work to purchase tickets online. If your credit card is not accepted on Lion Air’s website, call a ticketing office or purchase from an online travel agent that accepts your payment. To find a ticketing office, select “Contact Us” on the right side of the top banner of Lion Air’s home page. Then select a region or city from the drop-down menu on the left to view contact information for that location’s ticketing office. If you prefer purchasing the ticket with cash at your departure city, look for an Indonesian or East Asian travel agency that handles Lion Air and can manage foreign currencies. For example, Bidy Tours is a reputable travel agency that can handle all of your Indonesian travel needs by phone or email. Meanwhile, and Nusatrip are both reputable agencies that provide a range of travel services online and accept foreign currency payment.
