Step 1
Get in touch with Mali Airways directly and book your ticket over the phone by calling 011 (+223) 229 50 86 or sending a fax to 011 (+223) 339 50 85. All country codes are within parentheses and begin with a "+" sign. All phone numbers include the United States international prefix "011." When calling internationally from outside the United States, substitute "011" with "00."

Step 2
Book your ticket through a travel agent. Although this usually involves a slightly higher cost, your travel agent will be able to coach you on the details of flying in and out of Mali.
-
Step 1
Catch a cab on your way out of the airport. You will have to cross the street and head to your right to find the drivers willing to offer set prices for various destinations.
-
Step 2
Get up to date on your vaccinations before you book your ticket on Mali Airways. You are required to be vaccinated against yellow fever. Doctors also encourage vaccines against the potentially deadly meningitis, typhoid fever and prevalent Hepatitis A and B.
-
Step 1
Take in the breathtaking sights of the Sahara desert. This sandy expanse is the second-largest desert in the world. You should only attempt to tour it if you are with a guide who is an absolute expert on the region.
-
Step 2
Check out the local talent and do some shopping. There are many shopkeepers who sell beautiful wares like leather and silver, as well as talented musicians who can play for you.
-
Step 3
Avoid drinking the water. Although highly chlorinated, there is still enough bacteria to make for an unpleasant visit to Mali. Purchase soda from the local vendors or insist on bottled water.
