This historic railway in Port Stanley, Ontario, Canada, runs diesel locomotives dating from the 1940s and 1950s. These trains have passenger cars made from converted train cabooses. From the Port Stanley station, next to the King George Lift Bridge, you can take one on weekends from March to November on a tourist excursion trips. There are daily schedules in the summer months of July and August. You can book special-event trips on holidays and by charter. Follow these steps to book your trip.

View times and dates for seasonal and special event train trips.
Step4
Print out a schedule or save it as a PDF.
Step5
Call to charter the train for special trips, groups or events.

Create a Special Event On Board a Train

Step1
Book the Port Stanley Terminal Rail's Little Red Caboose for birthday parties or other special events for children and adults.
Step2
Have the events catered independently for up to 26 people. A minimum of 10 people are required to book the caboose.
Step3
Charter a private Murder Mystery trip. Enjoy the plots created by The Who Dunnit Players during the round trip to St. Thomas.
Step4
Book the Entertainment and Sky Dome Dinner Train for weddings, corporate meetings and large family outings.
Step5
Ride the train to Parkside with your private party to enjoy shopping and lunch. Return as a group to Port Stanley.

Tips & Warnings

  • Regularly scheduled trips run rain or shine.
  • Look out the window: seasonal wildflowers grow adjacent to the tracks, with the type and variety changing from week to week. The wildflowers have the best color in the late spring and early summer.
  • Enclosed passenger caboose cars are heated in cold weather.
  • Holiday trips include Easter Bunny, Santa Express and Christmas Celebration trains.
  • Murder Mystery trains run in the late summer and fall.
  • All regular trips are 60 minutes long. Parkside trips last for 90 minutes.
  • You must arrive at the station at least 30 minutes prior to departure.
  • Reservations are required for holiday and Murder Mystery schedules.
  • Groups can ride regularly scheduled trips, but seating together cannot be guaranteed.
