How to Go Camping at Dry Tortugas National Park
Florida's Dry Tortugas National Park is located off the tip of Key West. The seven coral-and-sand islands in the park are known for their bird and marine life and their military history, not to mention legends about pirates and sunken gold. There is one campground with 13 sites, located on Garden Key. It is open all year and operates mostly on a first-come, first-served basis. There are eleven sites that hold up to six people and three tents each. The nightly fee is $3 per person.

Don't expect luxury. The campground has flush toilets but no water, showers or dump station. There is no grocery store, no fuel of any kind and no fresh water. Be sure to bring enough water! They weren't kidding when they named these islands the "Dry" Tortugas.
