Step1
Juniper scale leaves brown patches in its wake. It is round with a 1/16 inch to 1/20 inch diameter. It's white and has a yellow spot in the middle of it, something like a fried egg. When just hatched, Juniper scale is a bright yellow. Look underneath the foliage to find these pests.
Step2
Juniper webworm are about 5/8 inch long and are small brown moths. If your Juniper is infested with this pest, you'll see brown leaves, tiny white webs around an infested leaf and silken tubes.
Step3
The bagworm is a caterpillar that attacks the Juniper. You'll likely see its telltale silk bag shaped like a spindle. These bags are usually 1 to 2 inches long. The adult bagworm looks like a bee with clear wings.
Step4
Spider mites can be harmful to Juniper as well. Mites are very small and usually measure around 1 mm. They have eight legs rather than six, but you will not be able to see this without a magnifying glass. If you do look at a mite under a magnifying glass, you'll see that young mites are greenish white while older mites are reddish brown.
