ITunes 12 has three default video playback modes, all with different screen sizes. You can watch videos in the iTunes window, play them in a new window or watch them in full screen mode. If none of these options gives you the screen size you want, size your screen manually by opening videos in a new window.
Choose Your Video Screen Options
Choose a video, movie or TV show in iTunes and start playing it. Go to "View" and select "Video Playback." Your current viewing mode will be grayed out; pick one of the other options to switch. Alternatively, right-click the video and select a playback mode from the menu. You can also switch between full screen and your original playback mode by selecting the icon with two diagonal arrows on the playback bar. Once you change playback options, any videos you play in the future will use the new mode until you change it again.
Change Screen Size in a New Window
If you watch videos in a new window, you can change the screen size automatically or manually. Right-click on the video to see your automatic options. Select "Fit to Screen" to open the larger default window. The "Increase Size" or "Decrease Size" options make the screen larger or smaller each time you select them. If you want manual control, position your mouse at a corner or edge of the screen until the pointer turns into arrows, then drag the screen to the size you want. Select "Actual Size" to return to the default.
