The Oppo OPDV971H DVD Player is a great model, with all the basic features you’d expect in a DVD player and some extras too. You can play both DivX discs as well as DVDs, and this model will also play both PAL and NTSC format DVDs. This model allows you to zoom in to view a frame in close-up, or see it from a different camera angle, so you can see your favorite movies like you never have before! There’s also a parental lock function so you can prevent your children from viewing adult-rated movies, and you can choose from several different dubbing and subtitle languages too. Before you can do all that, you’ll need to connect your DVD player to a TV and an audio source. Here’s how to connect your DVD player to amplifier with 5.1 CH audio input.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • An amplifier with 5.1 CH audio input
  • An Oppo OPDV971H DVD Player

Step1
Make sure your amplifier and DVD player are turned off.
Step2
Plug one Audio cable into Front L and R in the Audio Out section of the DVD player. Connect the plugs at the other end into Front L and R on your amplifier.
Step3
Plug one Audio cable into Surround L and R in the Audio Out section of the DVD player. Connect the plugs at the other end into Surround L and R on your amplifier.
Step4
Plug the last Audio cable into Center and Subwoofer in the Audio Out section of the DVD player. Connect the plugs at the other end into Center and Subwoofer on your amplifier.

Tips & Warnings

  • Match the colors of the audio cables to the colors on the input jacks for the DVD player and the amplifier.
  • When you plug in the Audio cables be sure to match the L and R labels on the DVD player and the amplifier with the L and R plugs on the cords.
  • Make sure that all wires (including the power supply) are connected properly before turning on the DVD player.
  • Adjust volume levels of audio output devices to a low setting before turning the DVD player on to avoid damage to speakers or amplifiers. Adjust the volume after starting DVD playback.
  • Set your DVD player in a dry, well-ventilated area that is not close to any heat sources or exposed to direct sunlight.
  • Never place containers full of liquid close to or on top of the DVD player.
