Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Uniden PC78XL CB Radio
  1. Step 1

Turn Squelch completely clockwise, thus only strong signals will be able to get through.

  2. Step 2

If you want to be able to receive just about any signal (noises, both weak and strong signals) turn Squelch fully counter clockwise and wait until you hear a shush.

  3. Step 3

Turn Squelch back until the shush stops and you will only receive very clear signals.

Tips & Warnings
  • The Squelch button trims down background noise provided that there is no incoming signal.
  • If you want your Squelch to be automatically set to the best possible level for strong signals, just turn Dynamic Squelch Control (DSC) to the on position.
  • In order to receive weak signals you have to turn off the dynamic squelch signal.
  • Remember to adjust the Squelch merely when the radio is not receiving a strong signal.
  • Remember to check the content of the box for all its components. A PC78XL radio box should contain PC78XL CB 2-way mobile radio, microphone, mounting bracket kit, DC power cord, reference guide, Part 95 Subpart D (FCC Rules) and a product registration card.
  • If your radio is not receiving or you get only very weak signals, you can try to adjust the volume as well as the Squelch. Set the RF GAIN to max and check the antenna.
