How to Use Party Shuffle in iTunes

The Party Shuffle option in iTunes allows you to listen to any grouping of songs in a random order. You can also make changes to the order if you would like. Party Shuffle is useful when entertaining for a party, hence the name. These are a few steps to take to use Party Shuffle in iTunes.

Instructions

      Open iTunes. You can either right/command click or double-click on the iTunes icon located on your desktop. When using a PC, you can find it in the start menu.

      Click on "Party Shuffle" located in the playlists column on the left side of the iTunes window. Look for an icon with a staggered stack of CDs.

      Choose the source from which the Party Shuffle will choose songs. You can change the source by clicking on the "Source" bar to select the playlist you would like to use. The default source is the entire music library.

      Change the display settings. Change the number of upcoming songs and recently played songs to be displayed.

      Add or remove songs to the Party Shuffle. To remove songs, right/command click on a song that you would like to remove and select "Delete." To add songs, right/command click on the song of a different playlist and select "Add to Party Shuffle."

      Play the Party Shuffle. Click on the "Play" button at the top left of the iTunes window.

Tips & Warnings

  • Click on the "Play Higher Rated Songs More Often" check box at the bottom of the Party Shuffle window to play your higher rated songs more often than the lower rated songs.

  • Change the order of the songs by clicking on the "Shuffle" button at the bottom right corner of the Party Shuffle.

  • Party Shuffle is only for audio and not the video saved in your iTunes.

    Another warning: It will not play unchecked tracks which is bad -- you should be able to configure it to play unchecked tracks... the only reason I have unchecked tracks is I have about 300 gig of music and only 60 gig iPod.
