How to Turn the Visualizer on or off in iTunes

The Visualizer in iTunes allows you to watch a visual light display while listening to your favorite songs. The audio affects the visual display. But the Visualizer is still displayed with or without audio. Take the following steps to turn the Visualizer on or off in iTunes.

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • iTunes account
  1. Step 1

    Open iTunes on your computer. Click on the iTunes icon on your desktop to open the program.

  2. Step 2

    Turn the Visualizer on. Click on "View" at the top of the iTunes window.

  3. Step 3

    Select Show Visualizer. The Visualizer will automatically pop up and start the light display.

  4. Step 4

    Turn the Visualizer off. Click on "Edit" at the top of the iTunes window.

  5. Step 5

    Click "Hide Visualizer." You will be viewing your most recently used playlist after the Visualizer disappears.

Tips & Warnings
  • To turn the Visualizer on or off you can also press "Ctrl and T" at the same time.
  • There are lots of themes to choose from. Try them all before you decide on one.
  • The Visualizer is not as effective if iTunes is not playing a song.
