Similar to other material you can download from the Internet, podcasts can be videos or episodes of your favorite shows to which you have subscribed. If you are new to Zune software or to the idea of podcasting, you may need some help when trying to manage podcast content with your Zune.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Zune
  1. Step 1

Install a podcast application to your PC. This can be done by browsing through Internet search engines for applications to receive podcasts. For best results, type "Receive Podcasts" in the search engine bar to help find these kinds of programs.

  2. Step 2

Set up your default Windows folder. This folder is the one designated for your podcasts. Upon installing the podcasts receiving program, you may be prompted to select or make a new folder specifically for your podcasts.

  3. Step 3

Set up your podcast folder to be monitored by Zune. You can do this one of two ways. The first way is to go into your Zune software, select Options, then Add to Library and finally, select Add Folder to choose the folder you wish to add to the monitored list. The second way of doing this is to press F3 on your keyboard and select the Add Folder option.

  4. Step 4

Open your podcasts in Zune. To do this, you must open your Zune software, go to your library, and select Podcasts. This will bring up the podcasts to your screen for viewing.

  5. Step 5

Subscribe to podcasts. To do this, you can go online and subscribe, through Zune, to various podcasts offered online, either for free or for a fee.

Tips & Warnings
  • Podcasts will be automatically refreshed in your Zune according to episodes of your subscription that are broadcast.
  • The only time you will need to manually download podcasts is when there are individual episodes, when a specific subscription has stopped and you wish to renew it or when the podcast has changed names and you are switching to the newest version.
  • Double-check the folder where you are storing your podcasts and be sure that they will be safely loaded and refreshed there or they might be lost on your computer.
