How to Book Train Travel From Chongqing to Beijing

Reserve your train travel from Chongqing to Beijing online using the China Trip Advisor Web site (see below). This site will help you locate the train traveling closest to your destination.

Book your tickets at least 10 days in advance. China Trip Advisor lets you book as far as 60 days in advance.

Supply both a ticket delivery address and a date upon which the tickets can be delivered. The address you give will need to be in China; most customers give their hotel address. Confirmation for your successful train ticket booking will be sent by email.

Complete the booking by paying online with a credit card. China Trip Advisor accepts MasterCard, Paypal, AMEX, Diners Club or VISA. You don't need to submit this payment information until you receive email confirmation that your tickets have been booked.

Tips & Warnings
It is possible to book five classes of train travel from Chongqing to Beijing. The classes include Hard seat the cheapest class. Soft seat cost a little more but offers more comfort to travelers. The Hard sleeper offers compartments open to the passageway that hold up to six beds. Soft sleeper offers closed compartments with 4 beds each. Deluxe soft sleepers are the costliest class but can offer private rooms and bathrooms. (If a train is already full you can choose to stand inexpensively.)
Be sure to request a kettle for boiling water in your hotel room. Hotels make boiled water available in your room because tap water in China is not usually safe for drinking.
It is wise to carry disposable disinfectant tissues when using public conveniences, including telephones and computers. You'll also need your own regular tissue or toilet paper for many of the toilets.
In many of the less expensive hotels, laundry service is hard to find; for the higher-end hotels, laundry service is rather expensive. However, there are laundry and dry cleaning shops in many areas of China that can do your laundry for a few dollars.
