Go to the Fare Finder Tool found at the Amtrak Web site (see link below). Fill out the "Departs" field with your train station departure code. Use BON for Boston-North Station, BOS for South Station, BBY for Back Bay and RTE for Westwood-Route 128. Enter PVD for Providence under "Arrives." Alternatively, call Amtrak at 1-800-USA-RAIL.

Continue by choosing a departure date, time and passenger details. Sort by fare or schedule according to your budget and travel timing flexibility.

Select your preferred itinerary after reviewing your options. Look at the amenities to help you decide what fits your travel requirements best.

Tips & Warnings
Choose the Boston-North Station Maine (BON) if you are connecting from an Amtrak Downeaster train. You are responsible for arranging your transportation to get to the North Station.
Taxi service is recommended if you are using the South Station; take the subway if you are using the Back Bay Station.
You can also book your trip over the phone, via a PDA, through a travel agent or by visiting the Amtrak Station and getting your ticket at a Quik-Trak kiosk.
