Catch the train in Niagara Falls, and travel east to New York City for a weekend of shopping, a Broadway show, or elegant cuisine. Travel by train from Niagra Falls to New York City takes a while, but it can be a relaxing way to make the trip.

    Find the Right Train From Niagara Falls to New York City

  1. Step 1

    Book your travel on Amtrak's Empire Service Route for direct service from Niagara Falls to New York City. This train route ends at the Pennsylvania Station, so make plans for an alternate form of transportation when you arrive in New York City.

  2. Step 2

    Take the Metro Rail or Bus from Niagara Falls to the Buffalo-Depew train station so you can catch the Lakeshore Limited Route to New York City. This train travels from Chicago to Albany. There a northbound train heads to Boston and a southbound train goes to New York.

  3. Step 3

    Schedule your travel on the Maple Leaf Route of Amtrak to catch a train out of Toronto, Canada, on its way to New York.
