How to Book Train Travel from Raleigh, NC to New York

Call Amtrak at 1-800-USA-RAIL or visit Amtrak's web site in the "Resources" section below. On the web site, you can book your train reservations via Amtrak's Fare Finder. You can also navigate the site if you have a PDA, Blackberry or other handheld device.

If you ordered your tickets online or by phone, pick them up at a ticket agent or at one of the Quik-Trak kiosks that can be found at many Amtrak locations (you'll need to enter your reservation number). If you've booked your trip far in advance, you can also request that your tickets be mailed to you.

Tips & Warnings
Each Amtrak train station is different. Familiarize yourself with the services offered at the Raleigh and New York stations. Go to the 'Stations' tab at the Amtrak website for more details.
This is a long trip. Do the best you can to make yourself comfortable during your journey. Bring blankets, pillows, and footrests and wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Your Amtrak ticket is only refundable or valid for an exchange within one year.
Have your photo ID with you at all times in the event that you are asked to confirm your identity.
Do not worry if random identification and ticket checks take place. This is part of Amtrak's security procedure.
