Tips & Warnings
Be sure to check out the Zytglogge (a medieval clock tower with moving puppets) in Bern before you board the train to Paris.
Learn a little French and German. The city of Bern is bilingual, with most natives speaking German as their first language. You will not be surprised to learn that Parisians primarily speak French. Fortunately, English is also a widespread language in western Europe, and most people know a little English.

There is also a direct train from Bern (Central station- Hoptbahnof in German) to Paris (North Train Station, Gare du Norde in French) twice a day, currently at 08.23 and 17.23 (Swiss time, which is one hour ahead of UK time and very efficient). The staff in the Swiss travel stations are some of the most efficient and approachable in the world, and the trains leave exactly when they say they will. -
