Step 1
Save money and book a Eurail France-Switzerland Pass, which you can book on the Rail Europe site. You can travel between Switzerland and France on multiple occasions for one flat, discounted fee.
-
Step 2
Travel with 1 to 4 other friends and family. If you are traveling with a group, book a Eurail France-Switzerland Saverpass and enjoy flexible, unlimited travel over a 2-month period.
-
Step 3
Look for discounts for travelers under the age of 26. There is a Eurail France-Switzerland Youth Pass, which offers second-class unlimited train travel during a 2-month period. You can pick 4 days of train travel and they need not be consecutive.
-
Step 4
Obtain a refund, if necessary, by returning your used ticket to the Rail Europe office in the United States, in New York. If your ticket is a point to point ticket (not a pass), you will lose 15 percent of the price you originally paid.
-
Step 5
Book travel on one of Eurail's TGV trains. This type of train is one of Europe's most popular, and it travels up to 186 mph. These trains feature computer ports, nursery areas, restaurant and snack cars and vending machines.

Step 6
Budget between $140 and $180 for one-way, second-class tickets from Geneva to Paris. Prices differ depending on what days of the week you travel and at what time of the day. First-class tickets run upwards of $250 for a one-way ticket.
-
Step 1
Take advantage of the packing checklist, located in the 'Travel Resources' section of the Rail Europe website. They have provided a very thorough list of things to bring on your train trip.
-

Find helpful interactive maps of France and Switzerland in the 'Travel Resources' section. You can even search hotel rooms on these maps.
