Book Train Travel From Bucharest to Ploiesti
-
1
Use the link supplied below to reach the Romanian State Railway website. If the site appears in Romanian, click on the EN tab or British flag to access the English translation. Then locate the 'Timetable Services' area on the left side of the page.
-
2
Enter your desired travel date from the drop-down menu, then type 'Bucuresti' in the 'From' area and 'Ploiesti' in the 'To' area. If you get an error message, the names may be misspelled, so go back and type the first few letters of each and use the drop-down menu under 'Stations' on the next page to select the correct names.
-
-
3
Use the 'Stations' menu to make sure you have selected the correct station--try 'Bucuresti Nord' with either 'Ploiesti Nord' or 'Ploiesti Sud' for the largest number of trains. 'Bucuresti Sud' to 'Ploiesti Sud' will also work, but trains leaving from Bucuresti Sud do not run to the Ploiesti Nord station.
-
4
Select an arrival or departure time (here called 'interval'--don't be confused by this) if you wish, but don't bother with the 'Sort' options, as there won't be that many trains. Hit 'Search' for a list of trains traveling on your chosen date.
-
5
Select your preferred connection from the list of trains shown. Make a note of this connection and of several alternatives as well.
-
6
Book your ticket in advance from the Romanian State Railway (SNCFR) office in Bucharest (phone 01-313-2644); alternatively, purchase a ticket at the station.
