Things You’ll Need:

Book Your Train Ticket From Dusseldorf to Amsterdam

Step1
Go to the Rail Europe Web site (see Resources). Select the "Train Tickets & Schedules" options from the left menu bar.
Step2
Enter "Dusseldorf" and "Amsterdam" in the point to point destination boxes. Select if the ticket is one way or if you need a return trip. Enter your travel departure date and time and the number of adults, children, youth and seniors that will be taking this trip.
Step3
Select a train ticket option that suits your needs. Travel time is a total of about 5 1/2 hours and usually requires 3 different connections. Choose from 4 different seating options, namely Economy, Freedom, Comfort and Premier. The latter 2 options are first class seating and cost more than the first 2 options which are second class seating.
Step4
Enter passenger information for each ticket. The passenger's name, age and country of origin are required information.
Step5
Select your shipping preference and enter your shipping information, day time phone number and email address. Enter your departure date and any promotion codes for additional savings to officially book your tickets.
Step6
Enter your billing information and then confirm your order. Print out your confirmation notes for your records.

Tips & Warnings

  • Standard delivery time is usually 2 or 3 days. However, point to point tickets usually take an additional day. Plan ahead to make sure that you book your tickets well in advance so that you will receive your tickets on time.
  • Seating class options provide an array of comfort choices. First class has more room, is quieter and offers more storage space than second class seating. However, depending on the country and its rail service, second class seating can offer ample space and storage as well.
  • Dining car options are usually available on all trains especially during mealtimes. However, some trains particularly premier and Eurocity trains serve meals at the passenger seat.
