Make sure you greet others. Ghanaians place high value on friendliness.
Don't take photographs of anyone in uniform without asking their permission. To do so might result in your camera and film being confiscated.
Be aware that corruption is rampant and police at checkpoints will often want money.
Malaria is widespread, and the risk of meningitis is high.
Yellow fever vaccination is required, and vaccinations are recommended for Hepatitis A and B, Cholera and Typhoid fever.
Take AIDS/HIV precautions.
