How to Treat a Bedbug Bite

Bedbugs are nocturnal creatures that feed on human blood. Because their bites don't hurt, you may not realize you're a victim until you start itching and notice swelling in a reddened wheal. Here's how to treat it.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ice pack
  • Calamine lotion
  1. Step 1

    Do not scratch the bite.

  2. Step 2

    To ease the itching, use an anesthetic cream or calamine lotion.

  3. Step 3

    Wash the area of the bite with soap and water.

  4. Step 4

    Use an ice pack to reduce swelling.

  5. Step 5

    Consult a physician should the bite become infected.

on 10/6/2008 To stop the itch os a bite apply oil of pepperment or pure peppermint extract. The itch goes away immediately and doesn't return
