Your iTunes folder is a compilation of your favorite songs, collected over time, that would take forever to reproduce if you lost them in a system crash. If you have iTunes 7 and a CD burner, you can protect your iTunes library by copying the entire folder to a CD.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Apple iTunes 7
  • Blank CD
  • Computer with CD burner
  1. Step 1

    Open iTunes.

  2. Step 2

Go to "File" and select "Back Up to Disc."

  3. Step 3

Choose from the options offered: back up your entire library, only purchases from the iTunes store or only items added or changed since the last backup. Then click "Back Up Now."

  4. Step 4

Insert a blank CD when prompted. Burning will begin automatically.

  5. Step 5

Label your disc when the backup is finished and keep it in a safe place.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure there is enough space on your backup CD for the entire library.
  • Backup discs can only be used to restore. They cannot be used in a CD player.
